Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up, you give us your email address. That's the only personal detail we require to create your account, and you can update it at any time from your account settings.

Content you create

Tasks, projects, areas, sections, routines, inbox items, tags, and any text you enter into AroTime are stored so we can show them back to you. We treat this content as yours.

Usage and device information

We collect basic information about the browser and device you use, anonymous usage signals (which features are used, which pages are visited), and error reports. This helps us keep the Service running and decide where to improve it.

AI interactions

When you explicitly invoke an AI feature (for example, turning an Inbox item into a task with AI), we send the relevant input to Anthropic to generate a response. We send only what's needed for that one request, only when you trigger it. We don't share your data with Anthropic for model training, and we don't use your data to train any AroTime model.

Why we collect it

To provide the Service

We use your information to operate AroTime: storing your tasks and projects, syncing them, processing AI requests you initiate, and handling payments for paid plans.

To keep the Service reliable and safe

We use logs and anonymous analytics to detect outages, debug issues, and prevent abuse.

To improve the Service

We look at aggregated, anonymised usage to understand which features matter most and where the rough edges are.

To communicate with you

We may send service-related messages (password resets, billing notices, important product updates). We'll ask before using your email for anything else.

How we share information

We don't sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers we need to run AroTime — for example, our hosting provider, our database provider, our payment processor, and Anthropic for AI features. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound to use it only for those purposes.

Your controls

• You can edit or delete content you've created at any time
• You can update your email and profile from account settings
• You can export or delete your account on request — email us to start the process
• You can disable cookies in your browser, though some parts of the Service rely on them

Cookies

AroTime uses cookies for authentication (so you stay signed in) and to remember preferences such as your selected area. Disabling cookies will make parts of the Service unusable.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account we remove your data from active systems and retain it only in encrypted backups for up to 90 days, after which it is permanently deleted. Billing records may be kept longer where required by tax or accounting law.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We restrict access to production systems and review our security practices regularly. No system is perfectly secure, so we ask you to use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

Children

AroTime is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). If we learn that a child has created an account, we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. We won't reduce your rights under this policy without your explicit consent. If a change is significant, we'll give you more prominent notice.
